The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels (“Brussels ETO”) is the official representation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”) Government to the European Union and 15 countries in Europe. We seek to promote the overall image of Hong Kong, and in particular, to promote Hong Kong’s economic and trade interests by enhancing understanding of the HKSAR among the European community.
Arts and Culture Coordinator (Europe) helps promote Hong Kong in Europe on arts and cultural front. Duties include -
Project implementation: planning, implementing and coordinating projects and events in collaboration with artists and stakeholders to promote Hong Kong’s arts and culture in Europe
Cultural liaison: establish contacts and maintain an arts and cultural network representing Hong Kong interests in Europe
Publicity support: managing social media and other publicity work to promote Hong Kong as an international arts and cultural centre
Event management: support Hong Kong artists/art groups/delegations in cultural events in Europe to foster Hong Kong-Europe exchanges
The candidate should have –
(a) A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent; majoring in arts management, performing arts and creative industries such as music, dance, drama, stage design, or arts and culture-related disciplines will be given priority;
(b) Considerable working experience in arts and cultural administration, public relations and/or event management fields;
(c) Language proficiency:
(i) Excellent command of written and spoken English;
(ii) Proficient in either French or Dutch would be given priority;
(iii) Knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage;
(d) Internet and social media savvy; and
(e) A good team player with a strong sense of responsibility and effective organisational, presentation and communication skills.
This position is based in Brussels and may require occasional travel.
The salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
