Health and Environment Alliance is looking for a Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer, Health and Climate

Climate change is the greatest health threat of the 21st century, and its impacts are increasingly being felt in Europe.

Given the urgency to act, the health and medical sector has been calling for swift, decisive climate mitigation and adaptation measures to prevent people’s suffering and reduce health cost.

With the start of the new EU policy cycle, HEAL aims to strengthen health engagement on climate at the EU, national and urban levels, to up the ambition of the EU’s climate policies at home and internationally.

Are you HEAL’s new Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer for Health and Climate?

You can help expand health and medical engagement, communicate the latest science on health and climate to decision-makers, and advocate for policies which place health at the centre of climate action.

Requirements

We need someone who:

  • is passionate about HEAL’s mission and ensuring we can lead healthy lives on a healthy planet

  • has at least 5 years of experience in a science-to-policy role, preferably within an NGO or research organisation

  • possesses excellent attention to detail, organisational, and planning skills, with strong project-management abilities

  • has proven expertise in translating scientific research into policy and advocacy initiatives, and in analysing policy developments

  • A full-time, 1-year contract (possibility of renewal based on funding availability)

  • A gross salary of around 4,000 EUR per month

  • A complementary pension scheme (HEAL contributes 4% of your monthly salary)
