Are you passionate about climate justice and youth empowerment? Do you have experience in project and financial management? If so, Generation Climate Europe (GCE) wants you to lead our new Funding Fairer Futures project!
As our Project and Finance Manager, you will lead the Funding Fairer Futures project, funded by the European Commission’s DEAR programme. This initiative aims to empower civil society organisations and youth groups across Europe, providing them with the resources and skills to drive inclusive and gender-transformative climate justice. You’ll play a key role in developing project plans, managing budgets and financial reporting, and working closely with a diverse network of partners and volunteers.
For more information on the key tasks and requirements for this role, please check out the job description.
We are seeking candidates with experience in managing projects and their finances, particularly within the climate action or social justice sectors. A deep commitment to climate justice, gender equity, and youth empowerment is essential.
Given that this is GCE’s first hire, flexibility, initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers are crucial. We are a young organisation that has undergone a significant transformation in the last years, evolving from an entirely volunteer-led organisation to a network with several exciting projects and initiatives. If you’re looking for a role within a traditional, long-established structure, this might not be the right fit. However, if you’re eager to join a collaborative environment where we grow and learn together, we are really looking forward to the prospect of working together.
1-year contract under Belgian law (Contrat à Durée Déterminée – CDD), starting as soon as possible and renewable for the whole duration of the project.
Gross salary of around 3500-3800 EUR/month.
4-day workweek (32 hours) with flexible teleworking arrangements to be discussed with the candidate.
Attractive benefits package including lunch vouchers, extra holidays, local transportation reimbursement and teleworking allowance.
Please note that applicants must have the right to work in Belgium as we are unable to sponsor visas.
Ready to make an impact? Apply by filling out the form below by Sunday 1 September 2024. You’ll need to upload the following files:
A cover letter that explains why you think you’d be a good fit for the role and for GCE
An up-to-date CV
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview in early/mid-September.
Generation Climate Europe is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
We know that long lists of criteria can be daunting and that some candidates will not apply for a role unless they feel they are 100% qualified. If you feel you meet at least some of the essential criteria, we still encourage you to apply.
