The European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN) is a well-known Brussels-based platform that gathers around 120 regional organisations from more than 20 European countries. ERRIN supports members to develop their R&I ecosystems, brings a place-based perspective to European research and innovation policy and funding, and facilitates access to project opportunities for members.
The Project and Policy Managers will work on a range of projects and policy activities related to mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
Candidates should fulfil all general job requirements defined below (“requirements”). However, the exact division of responsibilities will be based on the expertise of the successful candidates.
Specifically, the colleagues’ roles will focus on:
The EU Mission on Climate Neutral and Smart Cities (Cities Mission) and providing support services within the NetZeroCities (NZC) project
The EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change (Adaptation Mission) and contributing to the project management of RESIST and Pathways2Resilience (P2R)
Additionally, the successful candidates will be working in close collaboration with ERRIN’s Adaptation and NetZero team and maintain regular contact with ERRIN members and key stakeholders through ERRIN Working Groups and Task Forces.
Provide advisory services to Mission Cities on climate neutrality, liaising with a team of Climate Neutral City Advisors from other partner organisations
Contribute to consortium-wide efforts around policy, partnership building, and governance innovation activities
Closely collaborate and foster synergies with all colleagues within the ERRIN NetZeroCities project team
Develop project deliverables, contribute to the project reporting and participate in consortium and other meetings
Carry out specific project tasks within the RESIST project, such as supporting the Large-Scale Demonstrators in their journey to develop and implement their regional climate commitments and related action plans
Carry out specific project tasks within the Pathways2Resilience project, such as organising outreach activities to mobilise local and regional stakeholders to work on their climate adaptation pathways
Develop project deliverables, contribute to the project reporting and participate in consortium and other meetings
Support the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects
Support ERRIN's work on influencing EU Missions' implementation and further design, while creating links to relevant ERRIN project tasks and activities
Develop recommendations that strengthen implementation of mission-oriented policies at all governance levels
Contribute to ERRIN’s internal project development process to advance ERRIN's impact in the Association's key priority areas
Actively contribute to the work of relevant Working Groups and Task Forces
Identify synergies between the projects and relevant WGs/TFs and ensure alignment with their annual workplans and activities
Relevant university degree
At least 3 years’ experience in EU project management. The two vacancies may be filled by candidates with different experience levels, which will be reflected in the allocation of tasks.
Experience in working at local and/or regional level on climate adaptation and mitigation
Experience in working with and coordinating multiple stakeholders
Good understanding of European Research and Innovation Policy and the related funding programmes, in particular Horizon Europe
Full professional proficiency in English
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and team attitude
Ability to efficiently set and handle multiple deadlines and priorities
We offer a permanent contract with a competitive monthly salary between €3000 and €4200 depending on experience. Other benefits include 13th month, hospitalisation and healthcare insurance, meal vouchers, ecocheques and transport pass for Brussels.
The average weekly working time at ERRIN is set at 40h/week with a reduction in working time (RTT – one day off per month on top of annual leave).
ERRIN promotes a healthy work-life balance and offers a flexible office/homeworking schedule.
The candidate is expected to start as soon as possible and should be based in Brussels or willing to relocate at the start of their contract.
