Europe Jacques Delors is looking for a full-time (38 hours/week) communications assistant (F/M/D), based in Brussels. The position is for an initial period of 6 months, to be filled as soon as possible, with the possibility to extend to a year.

Europe Jacques Delors is a Brussels-based, non-profit and independent think tank, which was created in early 2020 in addition to the Jacques Delors Institute in Paris (*1996) and the Jacques Delors Centre in Berlin (*2014). United by a common theme – Penser l'Europe, Europa denken, Thinking Europe – the three think tanks aim to contribute to the debate on the European integration in line with Jacques Delors' vision and legacy.

Europe Jacques Delors is focusing on sustainability and environmental issues, working on greening trade, agrifood, ocean protection and green finance. We are a young dynamic team of approx. 10 people working at the SustainableHub in the European Quarter.

Your tasks:

  • General support: Work closely with the communications officer in several communications tasks, liaise with the different analysts and support the overall publication and events timeline.
  • Press relations: Drafting press releases and coordinating their dissemination; Maintaining and updating the media contact and newsletter lists; preparing media briefings for the Director-General as well as the Deputy Director.
  • Social media: Assisting the communications officer in managing and growing the EJD’s presence on social media (LinkedIn, Bluesky); creating engaging and visually appealing content.
  • Drafting and editing: Writing and editing content for the EJD newsletter, website, and social networks; translating publications and articles from English to French.
  • Events: Support the office manager and communications officer in preparing the annual reception; as well as analysts to prepare roundtables.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor or Master diploma in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, in social or political sciences, or related fields.
  • First experience in a communications role.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and French.
  • Strong research, writing and editing skills with the ability to create engaging content on social media.
  • A strong spirit of initiative, engagement for the topics of Europe Jacques Delors and an ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
  • Knowledge of the European Union, of green policies and sustainability issues is considered a plus.
  • Previous experience with think tanks is considered an asset.

The position is a “CIP” contract (Convention d’immersion professionnelle) under Belgian law. The salary is 1200€ gross.
