Equinet is looking for a Policy Officer, expected to focus on work and activities exploring the link between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Equality and between Climate Change/Climate Change Mitigation Measures and Equality. The Policy Officer will work closely with and under the guidance of a Senior Policy Officer within Equinet’s Legal and Policy Team to carry out tasks related to the following aspects:
Artificial Intelligence and Equality (Primary focus)
Climate and Equality (Secondary focus)
Economic and Social Rights (Subsidiary focus)
Event Planning: plan and implement all aspects of events in the portfolio

Relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in the field of equality and non-discrimination.
Proven interest in the impact of Artificial Intelligence on equality.
Experience organising trainings and high-level events.
Good knowledge of European anti-discrimination law.
Personal commitment to non-discrimination, equal opportunities and human rights.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to perform in a European/international and multicultural environment with members and partners.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Experience in the impact of Artificial Intelligence on equality.
Proven interest in the equality implications of climate change.
Knowledge of National Equality Bodies.
Experience working with membership-based organizations.
Knowledge of other European languages.
This is a full-time (38 hours/week) contract to be performed at the Equinet Secretariat, located in Brussels, Belgium (at least two days a week, remote working is possible for the rest of the time).
Equinet offers a Belgian employment contract with the following package:
Competitive monthly salary based on experience;
Paid holiday in accordance with Belgian law;
13th month (pro rata of months worked);
Extra holiday pay to the pro rata of days worked;
EUR 8 face-value meal voucher per day worked;
Full reimbursement of costs for commuting between home and the workplace;
Medical and dental insurance
