Bruegel is recruiting a Communications and editorial officer, to join the communications team, offering a challenging working experience in the top-rated European economic policy think tank. The post offers the opportunity to gain specific knowledge on communication and outreach related to economic policy and European affairs, and to support the editorial curation of the output of the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Communications and editorial officer performs the following core tasks in close collaboration with the Head of Communications and the rest of the team:

  • Participate in editing of all Bruegel’s written content.

  • Support Bruegel’s Senior editor.

  • Support the Editorial process management.

  • Help manage the website.

  • Support the monitoring of Bruegel’s impact via its various channels.

  • Helping craft key messaging across the multiple Bruegel channels.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a proactive candidate, sociable and results-oriented, able to work within an international research community.

We are looking for applicants with:

  • Academic background in political science, economics, social sciences, journalism, communications, or equivalent.

  • Strong interest in economic policy and knowledge of European affairs.

  • Excellent drafting and editing skills for texts targeting external audiences.

  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure output complies with Bruegel style and editorial standards

  • Fluent written and spoken English (native-speaker level).

  • Able to research, collate, analyse and summarise information.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.

  • Capacity to work with people from different social and cultural backgrounds.

  • Social media savvy and computer literate.
